Catnip - A Cat's Guide To Internet Freedom

A Cat's Guide to Internet Freedom is a book, written together with Mallory Knodel and based on an idea by Niels Ten Oever.
It's a guide for people who use technology, which is all of us. It's for those of us who are curious about basic internet infrastructure and how it operates. We've taken these basic concepts and presented them with concise, clear text alongside playful illustrations.
I have written and illustrated the book. Mallory has written and edited the book. I created a poster, a website, and flyers. The book will be published in spring 2020.

Promotional poster showing the chapter about the Tor network, created in 2018 with Aline Girard. Back then, the project was still only called like the cat, "Catnip", short for Censorship-Access-Telcos-Networks-InternetProtocols :) Also back then, Alice was trying to communicate with Bob, but I was highly uncomfortable with this gendered representation common when talking about cryptographic protocols. In the upcoming book, Alice talks to her non-binary friend Catnip instead.
