For the Galerie für zeitgenössische Kunst (GfzK) Leipzig, I worked together with Enrico Zini on software for digital signage on a RaspberryPi. My work consisted in project management (need finding, prioritization, communication), debugging, and documentation.
The GfzK has three screens, one at the entrance of the old building, one at the entrance of the new building and one at the back entrance of the café. The screens are connected to three RaspberryPis that run our software. They are connected to each other via a local network. We created a simple web interface for the gallery staff to upload new slideshows (video, PDF, images, ODP) to one of the devices: the devices synchronize automatically between each other. It's also possible to have each screen display a different slideshow.
The software is highly portable, please contact us if you're interested in it for your space or exhibition!

The code is published under a free software license and available on Github Himblick project on Github.
Enrico has blogged about the technical creation process.
